Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian silver snuff boxes were personal containers crafted during the reigns of King George I through George IV, designed to hold powdered tobacco. Typically constructed from sterling silver, these items feature tight-fitting friction or hinged lids to preserve freshness.

Eighteenth-century silver boxes were forged from sterling silver, comprising 92.5% pure silver alloyed with copper for structural durability. Craftsmen utilised hand-hammering, engine-turning, bright-cut engraving, and die-stamping to create decorative borders and intricate surface patterns.

Authentic George III silver features clear hallmarks stamped by regional assay offices, such as Edinburgh or London. These hallmarks include the makers mark, purity mark, town mark, date letter, and the sovereigns head duty mark introduced in 1784.

Small antique silver boxes can be displayed on a desk, sideboard, or mantelpiece alongside leather-bound books and brass objects. They also function as functional tabletop accent pieces for storing small items like paperclips, cufflinks, or jewellery.

Maintain sterling silver by dusting with a soft, lint-free microfibre cloth and polishing occasionally with a gentle silver cream to prevent heavy tarnish. Avoid abrasive metal cleaners, dipping solutions, and high-humidity environments that accelerate oxidisation.
