Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the early 18th century during the reign of Queen Anne, a corner chair, also known as a roundabout chair, is designed with a diagonal orientation to fit into room corners or sit at a writing desk, featuring a curved crest rail and double splat back.

Early 18th-century corner chairs were predominantly crafted from solid walnut, fruitwoods, or dense mahogany, using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, turned corner posts, and drop-in upholstered seats.

Authentic Queen Anne corner chairs feature hand-cut joinery, a front cabriole leg ending in a pad or club foot, turned secondary legs, and period-appropriate wood patination along timber joints.

An antique corner chair functions effectively as an accent piece in a study corner, placed beside a console table, or positioned in an entryway to maximise floor space while providing functional seating.

Dust the wooden frame regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish annually to protect the original finish, keeping the chair away from direct heat sources and dampness.
