A Small Skeleton Clock

19th century
Description

A small French Great Exhibition skeleton clock. The original glass dome to the ebonised base standing on tapered feet. A brass frame with blued steel screws and a circular pendulum adjuster at the top. A circular enamel dial with Roman numerals and 'moon' blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism with silk pendulum suspension. Circa 1865.

The clock is marked 'Honarables Paris Londres' to the base. They were made for the Paris and Crystal Palace Exhibitions 0f 1855 and 1867.
