Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Vienna cold painted bronzes are cast bronze sculptures produced in Austria during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, decorated with multiple layers of oil paint applied without firing.

These figures were cast using the lost-wax method in bronze, after which artisans painted the finished surface by hand using cold enamel pigments to achieve realistic detail and colour.

Authentic examples often display specific foundry stamps, such as the Bergman B inside a vase mark, alongside high cast detail and natural paint wear on raised areas.

Position these small bronze sculptures on a bookshelf, desk, or mantelpiece alongside leather-bound volumes and metallic accents to create a tailored vignette.

Dust gently with a soft camel-hair brush or dry microfibre cloth, ensuring no water, cleaning chemicals, or metal polishes are used, as these strip the delicate paint layer.
