Description

A beautiful, rococo style, sterling silver photograph frame. Embossed and pierced, with ornate scrolls, acanthus leaves, daisy flowers, shells and delicate diaper pattern panels. Six winged children cherubs, in various poses, are placed on each side, at the bottom and either side of the vacant cartouche at the top. Fitted to a blue velvet covered easel back stand. Hallmarked for London 1894, maker William Comyns & Sons.

It measures 21cm (8 1/4") from top to bottom and 17.5cm (6 7/8") wide. It stands 19.6cm (7 3/4") high and 10.1cm (4") deep. The aperture measures at its widest dimensions 14cm (5 1/2") high and 9.5cm (3 3/4") wide.

In excellent condition with no damage, dents, repairs or losses and very minor handling wear to the silver. The blue velvet is showing light handling wear, but still good overall.
