Hepburn and Gale was started in the 1770s by the owner John Hepburn who purchased three tanneries. They merged with several companies over the years and still operate today under the name of Barrow Hepburn and Gale who holds royal warrants for the supply and repair of ministerial dispatch cases and the manufacture of purses for the distribution of Maundy Money.
The leather handle is nice and sturdy and has a metal ring to each side.
A very nice usable Georgian bucket with a beautiful patina by a top maker and good to be marked with their details. Would make a stunning waste paper bin / basket and will look great in the home.
