Description

This unusual Ebonised Wood TABLE TOP DISPLAY FRAME for CARTE DE VISITE PHOTOGRAPHS dates from circa 1880. It holds 15 double-sided Carte de Visite wooden mounts holding approximately 60 photographs in total.

Eight images can be seen at one time through the decorative glass panels, front and back. Those stored inside the frame are easily accessible when the box is unlocked.

Many of the cards are from the Plymouth area and could possibly be images of one family.
