Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Guilloche enamel is a decorative technique where a precise, repetitive pattern is mechanically engraved into metaloften sterling silverand covered with translucent enamel glaze to create a light-reflective finish popular in late 19th-century metalwork.

Victorian inkwells frequently combine heavy cut glass or crystal bases with silver, silver-plate, or brass mounts, often accented by enamelled lids or decorative stone inlays.

Authentic pieces display official silver hallmarks on the collar or mount detailing the silver purity, town mark, and makers stamp, along with uniform engine-turned patterns beneath undamaged glaze.

Position the inkwell on a writing desk, console table, or stacked atop hardback books on a library shelf to introduce historical texture and fine metalwork to a contemporary room scheme.

Wipe the glass base with a soft microfibre cloth, polish the silver mount gently with a dry silver-polishing cloth, and avoid submerging enamelled components in water or exposing them to harsh chemicals.
