A fine and increasingly rare early 19th century mahogany apothecary travelling case, dating to circa 1820, of excellent quality and rich colour. This compact and highly functional piece was designed for portability, allowing medicines and remedies to be safely transported, and remains a fascinating example of Georgian craftsmanship.
 
The case is constructed in solid mahogany and reinforced throughout with brass corner straps and fittings, providing both strength and a pleasing visual contrast. The front is fitted with a shaped brass escutcheon and retains its original character, while the sides feature carrying handles for ease of transport.
 
Opening to the interior reveals a fitted arrangement containing a selection of original glass bottles with stoppers, housed within individual compartments.
