Salisbury Antiques Centre has dated this Carved Oak Leather Armchair to the 19th Century.

The chair is distinguished by its superb hand-carved detail. The arm fronts are boldly sculpted with opposing male and female figures, a rare and characterful feature that adds narrative and craftsmanship to the piece. These flow seamlessly into elegant scroll arms, while the lower frieze is adorned with finely carved acanthus ornament. The whole stands on carved scrolled feet, reinforcing its strong decorative presence.

The leather upholstery has developed a superb patina, with natural wear and tonal variation enhancing its warmth and authenticity. Studded borders trace the lines of the frame, adding further definition and a classic finish.
