Description
An excellent example of a late 18th century glass Stormlamp. A large bulbous bowl with a flared rim above a high conical folded foot.
Historical Context
Stormlamps, from the 18th and early 19th century, of this form, we were used in hallways to hold a single candle which would be protected from drafts. They were also typically used as a decorative home accessory, to hold floral arrangements.
Date & Origin
England, c1780-190, Period of King George III.
Condition
Excellent. Wear consistent with age. No chips, cracks, or restoration. Clear and clear internally.
