Here’s an antique pine chest of drawers with a removable back/top section. The additional top piece simply lifts off, giving you the option of a standard chest or a slightly taller version with the back in place.

The chest stands on bun feet at the front with square block feet at the back and has three drawers, all of which slide smoothly. The removable top section locates securely into position and sits firmly once in place.

It’s a neat, versatile piece that works well either way — with or without the back section fitted.
