~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
The movement is held aloft on two marble pillars. Suspended beneath the dial is a sunburst pendulum, gently swinging, adding both visual movement and symbolic reference to enlightenment and classical antiquity.

The dial is enamel on copper and is set within a finely chased gilt bronze bezel and displays Roman and Arabic numerals with delicate gilt hands, typical of French clockmaking of the period. The movement is wound through twin apertures.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock, please ask and we will send you a link.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration. Marble has some slight staining and has mellowed to an off-white. The dial is also in excellent condition with just some slight hairlining.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
