Baluch bag faces were hand-woven by nomadic Baluch tribes living near the borders of Persia and Afghanistan. Originally crafted as the front panel of storage bags (chanteh or khorjin) used during seasonal migrations, they served both functional and decorative purposes.

These textiles were hand-knotted using locally sourced, hand-spun sheep wool for both warp and pile. The rich dark tones were achieved using natural vegetable and mineral dyes, frequently rendered in deep blues, rust reds, and dark browns.
