A 17th Century Charles I/ Cromwellian Joined Chest, West Country C.1650

Nice size, restrained decoration anticipates the English Arts and Crafts Movement

Not unsurprising some wear and tear given its almost 400 years old. Isolated areas of historic worm damage, the feet have probably been reduced a little as a result. The carcass sits slightly off centre in relation to the top, and hinges are not original. It is however perfectly equipped to fulfill it''s purpose now as it did in the mid 17th century....great for storing stuff.
