Mark Jones Antiques has dated this Pollard Oak Coffer Chest to the 1940s.
Best known for his oak furniture produced throughout the mid-20th century, he is now regarded as the ‘Mouseman of Norfolk’. His style developed after careful study of medieval English furniture techniques, construction and materials.

He worked on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, including commissions for the Royal Family.
Provenance: Private Collection, Warwickshire; purchased directly from the Grimble workshop (with other pieces in our stock) and never previously on the market. This chest is amongst the finest he would have produced.
