A Nice Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Caddy Spoon with a scallop shell-form bowl. The handle is engraved with restrained linear decoration, adding refinement without overwhelming the form. Marked ‘S G E W’ for ‘Samuel Godbehere & Edward Wigan’, a London based silversmith. Hallmarked for 1788.
* It is an ideal accessory for tea, sugar, or spices, where a compact silver scoop is still the best tool.
Measurements:
Length: 3 1/2'' (approx. 9cm)
Silver weight: 10g
In good condition – The spoon presents well overall, with the shell fluting remaining clearly defined. There is light surface wear consistent with age, use, and routine polishing.
