This is a large, beautiful cast bronze sculpture depicting a mother and child who are poised in the portrait position and mounted upon a fabulous quality square veined marble plinth.

Entitled 'Maternity'.

The heavy, impressive piece is wonderfully cast with a brown and gilt patina.

Dating to circa 1950, and modelled after an earlier 20th-century example that was sculptured by Neopolitan artist Antonio Merente.

Offered in a stunning, original condition and bearing the signature A. Merente.
