Handsome Quality Cut Crystal Jar with Sterling Silver Lid - 1894

Description

A really top-notch cut crystal vanity jar made from thick glass cut in the ever-popular hobnail design and a star-cut base.

The lid is heavy, beautifully embossed with floral and scroll motifs surrounding a vacant cartouche in the centre of the domed top. The silver is heavy gauge and clearly hallmarked for London 1894, making this a true Victorian period example; the interior is lavishly gilded.

Excellent condition without damage, the lid measuring approximately 3 1/4" x 2" and stands 4 1/4" tall.
