From the intricate detail of the engraving of REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE on the brass plate above the door, to the rotating turret and alarm bells that sound periodically within the 15-minutes that a full wind achieves.Featuring five modular levels, four of which are brass-branded, with one level featuring wood-carved and gold-painted cannons, and one level featuring a metal railing. The bottom level is solid mahogany, with carved steps, and sits as the foundation to the substantial clockwork mechanism.This is one of those pieces where it''s obvious that countless hours of work has gone into building it, and I would just love to know the story of who built it, where, and what ...
