Gillers Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
They stand on rococo bases with applied flowers, with candlesticks rising behind them modelled as bundles of reeds and bulrushes.

The modelling shows the lively naturalistic style typical of Minton’s early decorative porcelain. The bright enamels and gilded ornament create a striking decorative effect.
Early Minton figures from this formative period are particularly desirable to collectors of early English porcelain.
