Antique Silver Plate and Glass Preserve Jar with Floral Bouquet Finial C.1890

Description

A wonderful and most unusual example of a late Victorian jam or preserve pot made from thick hobnail cut glass and topped with a silver plated lid with a wonderful finial on the top in the form of a bouquet of flowers.

Again unusual is that the pot sits in it's original silver plated caddy which in turn stands on three attractive feet. The underside of the stand is marked with a unicorn inside a shield, the maker unknown to us.

Excellent condition, the stand measures 6" in diameter and the pot and stand together measure 6 1/4" in height.
