Exquisite Edwardian Silver and Amethyst Glass Scent Bottle by Charles May, Birmingham 1901

Description

This is a beautiful and unusual Victorian silver lidded amethyst glass scent bottle. The amethyst barrel-shaped glass body mounted with a fully hallmarked solid silver lid. The lid embossed with flower heads. The neck fitted with a clear glass stopper.

Hallmarks:

CM for Charles May.

Birmingham Assay mark.

Lion passant.

Date letter "b" for 1901.

Dimensions:

Height: 7.5cm / 3 inches.

Maximum width: 3cm / 1.2 inches.

Condition:

Excellent.

No dings or dents, no holes to the lid.

Inner glass neck in perfect condition.

Glass stopper in excellent condition.
