An Exhibition Quality Collingson & Lock rosewood, coromandel and kingwood inlaid table. The rectangular top having a fine parquetry inlaid top with kingwood, boxwood and ebony inlays. The rectangular frieze drawer in solid coromandel with a finely cast silver plated handle. Raised on finely carved supports with writhen twist detail and united by a lower shelf. Stamped by the maker Collinson & Lock of London. English circa 1885-1890

Francis (Frank) Weightman Collinson (1836-1918) and George James Sheridan Lock (1846-1900)? were originally employees of the prestigious firm of Jackson & Graham, Oxford Street, London, but around 1863, they left to work for Herring and Co., an old-established furniture company with premises at 109 Fleet Street London. They eventually succeeded to this business in 1870 and turned it into their partnership. In that same year, they advertised themselves as: Collinson and Lock (Late Herring) Est. 1782
