Anthony Short Antiques has dated this Victorian Walnut Parquetry Table to the 19th Century.
The oblong octagonal top has moulded and banded edges, with a striking parquetry centre inlaid in a contrasting geometric design. The top is raised on a finely turned and carved pedestal with four splayed carved legs, richly decorated with floral relief carving and a central turned finial to the underside. A snap-release tilt mechanism allows the top to be folded upright, making it practical both for use and for display. Exquisitely detailed and presented in immaculate condition, this table retains its entirely original colour and patina, with a deep polish and warm, characterful glow that only well preserved 19th century furniture develops over time. Structurally sound and in excellent original order throughout, it is a piece of clear, top tier Victorian craftsmanship.

Its generous surface is ideal for displaying lamps, books, objets d’art or floral arrangements, while the sculptural base ensures it looks impressive from every angle. Combining originality, elegance and functionality, this Victorian walnut parquetry tilt-top table is a true statement piece for any interior that appreciates fine 19th century craftsmanship and timeless style.
