This Georgian tipstaff which is made of brass and wood dates from the early 19th century.

This antique tipstaff has a wooden handle with a brass body which is topped with an open brass crown finial.

This signifies the Crowns Court authority and would have been used to serve a warrant by a court officer, bailiff or police constable. Once the official had touched the person with the tipstaff the warrant would be deemed as served.

A wonderful tactile item that is an interesting talking piece.

Date: Georgian.

Dimensions: Length: 16 cm (6 1/4"). Width: 2.5 cm (1"). Height: 2.5 cm (1").

Weight: 58 g.

Condition: Very good original antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age. Some light bruises, knocks, marks and general wear. Please see pictures.
