Lincoln Restorations has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
A beautiful condition Victorian Duchess dressing table.
For its age, the silvering of the glass remains in remarkable condition, showing only the most minimal foxing—just enough to give that desirable antique shimmer without compromising its clarity. The mirror is framed by two exquisitely hand-carved foliate supports that sit atop twin banks of jewellery drawers, which are elegantly joined by a delicate spindled gallery rail. A standout feature of this particular piece is the suite of original brass dropper handles, boasting a highly unusual and rare honeycomb shape that adds a distinct touch of geometric sophistication to the design.

The construction is of the highest quality throughout, housing eight drawers in total, all of which feature finely hand-cut dovetails and solid mahogany sides . Notably, the tops are all crafted from solid mahogany without any joins , an unusual and impressive detail that showcases the quality of the timber used. The drawers operate perfectly with no runner wear, a testament to the original craftsmanship. The table stands on substantial, deeply fluted and turned front legs leading down to a graceful, shaped lower plinth shelf.

This dressing table has been sympathetically restored, maintaining its original patina and signs of age, which highlight the lovely deep, rich colour and its original lightly faded glazed French polished finish . As antique restorers, we have enhanced this piece by cleaning and carefully waxing it to give a natural lustrous sheen while preserving and protecting the timber. The result is a vibrant, functional statement piece that is perfectly prepared and protected for immediate use in the home.

Please note this item is in very good condition for its age but will have the odd blemish here and there; we feel that these points only add to its genuine charm and character.
