Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Imari porcelain originally developed in Arita, Japan, and was exported via the port of Imari in the seventeenth century. British manufacturers, notably Royal Crown Derby, adapted the distinctive cobalt blue, iron red, and gilded floral motifs during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Royal Crown Derby pieces are made from fine bone china, composed of bone ash, feldspar, and kaolin. The bold pattern designs are achieved using hand-applied enamels and detailed with twenty-two carat gold gilding.

Authentic pieces feature printed or painted factory marks on the underside, including the Crown Derby crown stamp, pattern numbers (such as 6299), and specific Roman numeral or symbol year cyphers indicating the exact date of manufacture.

Smaller porcelain vessels work well when grouped on a mantelpiece, sideboard top, or open shelving. Combining traditional Imari colours with neutral backdrops or dark timber furniture creates a balanced focal point.

Clean gently by hand using lukewarm water and a mild detergent with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive sponges, chemical cleaners, and dishwashers, as these will wear away delicate surface gilding and enamel decoration.
