Georgian Rosewood and Shell Inlay Caddy C 1820

Description

Beautiful Georgian caddy with shell inlay in excellent original condition. It is 17cm wide x 13 deep x 13 high and dates from c 1820.

Usually these Georgian caddies are mahogany so to find a rosewood one is quite unusual.

It is crossbanded in satinwood and has the internal two lids with bone knobs, as it should. It has a diamond shaped bone escutcheon.

The interiors of the two sections have some wear to the paper lining.
