A fine pair of Antique Italian Naples Capodimonte porcerlain campana vases of impressive scale, bearing the Naples Capodimonte blue painted crown signature on the underside, Circa 1860 in date.
They are richly moulded in high relief with a continuous frieze of Classical figures in a luxuriant landscape, the scenes finely enamelled in a vivid polychrome palette with extensive gilded highlights, the rims with gadrooned borders picked out in yellow and pink, the lower sections with Amask handles above scrolling foliage and berried ornament, each raised on a fluted and gilt enriched socle supported on a square base painted with further acanthus and rocaille scrolls, the underside bearing the crowned ‘N’ mark for Capodimonte.
The underside with the crowned ‘N’ Capo di Monte Porcelain Factory marks for 1830 - 1890.
It is a superb pair which will look great in your collection.

Capodimonte porcelain is porcelain created by the Capodimonte porcelain manufactory, which was established in Naples, Italy, in 1743. Capodimonte porcelain was made in direct emulation of Meissen porcelain. Capodimonte is famous for its moulded figurines and its decorative modelled flowers applied to cups and vases.
The Capodimonte porcelain tradition endured thanks to the creativity of the Neapolitan artists. During the second half of the 19th century, the first handicraft factories were created. They were all family-managed. In 1867, Alfonso Majello, knighted ''Cavaliere del Lavoro'', founded the Majellofactory, which continues to produce Capodimonte porcelain.
