A striking pair of antique hand-carved wooden lion brackets, dating to around circa 1900, beautifully sculpted from solid hardwood, possibly mahogany.
These impressive architectural lion supports are carved from single blocks of wood and display wonderful craftsmanship and character. Each lion is powerfully modelled with expressive features and flowing manes, creating a bold decorative statement.
Large and substantial, they would make superb shelf supports, architectural corbels, or decorative wall brackets. They could equally be displayed as standalone decorative carvings, adding a strong classical or heritage interior design element to a room.
The wood has developed a rich, warm colour and patina over time, enhancing the depth and detail of the carving and giving the pair a wonderful period presence.
