Description

An Edwardian mahogany record cabinet, with a moulded cornice above a single door inlaid with fine stringing and crossbanded borders, enclosing a fitted interior with vertical record dividers, original hanging printed index card and original Imhof & Mukle patent plate, set over a plinth base and raised on small turned bun feet.

A well-proportioned cabinet made for the orderly storage of 9 to 12 inch records, it still works well today as a compact record cabinet or occasional stand in a sitting room, study or music room. The original indexed interior, maker's plate and fitted divisions give it both practical use and a strong sense of nostalgia.

Very good antique condition with minor surface wear, light marks and patina consistent with age and use. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
