Liberty Style Anglo-moorish Ebonised Table

Description

A handsome Anglo-Moorish style side table in the manner of Liberty & Co.

Stylised octagonal top with shaped edges, raised on Moorish arched heads extending into its four elegant legs, which are decorated with characteristic mashrabiya beadwork panels. Solidly constructed with a lovely patina to the ebonised finish. A very useful occasional or lamp table.

Of similar design to the “Kharan” and “Irak” furniture ranges featured on pages 8 and 31 of Liberty’s Art Furniture catalogue (1884), and page 67 of their Handbook of Sketches (1889).
