Lancastrian Jewellers has dated this Sterling Silver Albert Chain to the 1910s.
This chain is hallmarked with the Lion mark on every link, and it weighs an impressive 70 grams.
The chain was named after Prince Albert, who was said to have been fond of wearing watch chains. The Dog clip would have been used to attach a pocket watch or fob, and the T-Bar would go through the buttonhole of a waistcoat to secure it in place.
Today, these are worn as necklaces, and the clips can be used to hang pendants or charms.
This is a quality example of an Albert chain, which would make a great addition to any collection.

CONDITION
This antique silver Albert watch chain remains in very good condition. The links, each bearing the lion mark, show very light surface wear and a typical antique patina. The dog clips are in good working order. This excellent antique watch chain makes it a superb addition to your antique collection.
