Peter Harris Clocks & Militaria has dated this Ottoman Flintlock Holster Pistol to the 18th Century.
The pistol is fitted with a long steel barrel measuring approximately 13.
It retains its distinctive brass furniture including an engraved side plate with hunting scene decoration, brass trigger guard and a large flared pommel cap typical of pistols produced in the Balkan regions under Ottoman influence.

The walnut stock shows carved decoration to the fore-end and retains traces of silver wire and applied silver ornament to the grip. The pistol measures approximately 20.5 inches overall and features an unusual decorative scroll-form trigger within the guard. The surfaces display attractive age patination and honest wear consistent with use and age.

A characterful and well-made example of an Ottoman frontier holster pistol.
Condition Report:
• Mechanism present and complete, stiff but working.
• Barrel with age-related wear and patination.
• Stock showing wear and darkening around the lock area from historic use

• Silver inlay largely worn or partially lost
• Brass mounts with good colour and patina.
The pistol shows much historic usage, which in my option adds to it's interest & charm. It appears to be original and complete.

Measurements:
• Overall length: 20.5 inches (52 cm)
• Barrel length: 13.5 inches (34 cm)
