Description

A Beautiful Victorian Period Burr Walnut Kidney Shaped Writing Desk. Having a hinged central writing surface with a green leather inset with gilt tooling which opens to reveal a satin birch storage compartment and brass gallery. The top is flanked by two further leather writing surfaces above two bow fronted drawers with the original locks and working keys. Having pierced floral carved detail to the knee hole and veneered throughout in burr walnut. Raised on turned and carved column supports with cabriole legs, brass and porcelain castors, united by a trend carved stretcher. English circa 1880. In fabulous condition, with wonderful quality leather insets. Some historic woodworm to one leg which is treated and distinct.

Dimensions: 48" wide x 21" deep x 29" high (Slope Height 31")
