Description

This fabulous Art Deco silver and overlay glass dressing table jar bears the marks of the renowned Mappin & Webb and is dated London 1920. The 4.3 inches tall cylindrical Bristol blue glass body sliced-cut to clear glass in geometric patterns. The top fitted with a heavy gauge silver lid. The lid with raised bluebell borders and engine-turned decorations. The inner lid a pale gilt. The underside star-incised.

Hallmarks:

Mn&Wb for Mappin & Webb.

London Assay Mark.

Date letter "e" for 1920.

Lion Passant.

London Assay Mark.

Dimensions:

Height:11cm / 4.3 inches.

Diameter: 7.5cm / 3 inches.

Condition:

Very good.

No chips or cracks to the main body.

Silver lid in very good condition.
