Brief Description:
The substantial-sized piece has an impeccable mahogany clock case that is embellished with fruitwood marquetry inlay with ivory accents (Submission reference: USZPJEW4).
The clock case has three original brass finials, a swan-neck pediment, panelled sides, and decorative silk-lined inset fret-carved panels.
The perfectly working 8-day mechanical movement with 9 large tubes, 3 huge brass weights and a solid brass regulator pendulum.
The piece chimes every 15 minutes, with an on/off silent lever, together with a lever to alternate the music from Whittington to Westminster chimes.
Included with the clock are the original cabinet keys, original weights, original winding key and the original pendulum.
I would suggest that this is currently the finest example available today!
