Of oval shape this Victorian walnut coffee table stands on the solid walnut base, with carved legs and feet.

The cabinetmaker would have taken time selecting the burr walnut for the top before creating this attractive table.

This formerly was of greater height but was reduced in height in its lifetime to make this table so to be used as a coffee table. There was no such thing as a antique coffee table and cabinetmakers used table that were not a useful size for everyday use and then reduced the height to make these superb coffee tables to serve a use in our modern lives.
