Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A cocktail watch is a small, highly decorative ladys wristwatch that gained popularity during the 1920s and 1930s. Designed to combine the functionality of a timepiece with the elegance of fine evening jewellery, these pieces typically featured precious metals, diamonds, and intricate geometric or floral detailing.

Art Deco watchmakers predominantly utilised platinum and white gold to complement the brilliance of diamonds and coloured gemstones. Case construction often incorporated hand-carved milgrain borders, diamond-paved bezels, and fine mechanical hand-wound movements.

Authentic period pieces usually feature hand-cut diamonds such as single cut, rose cut, or old European cut stones, along with fine milgrain edges and period hallmarks inside the case back. Mechanical movements from this era are manually wound rather than battery-operated quartz.

A diamond cocktail watch serves as an elegant accent piece for formal evening attire or black-tie wear. It can be worn individually as a focal point or stacked alongside delicate platinum and diamond bangles.

Keep antique timepieces away from water, moisture, and strong magnetic fields, as these can damage the internal mechanism. Have the mechanical movement serviced by a specialist horologist every three to five years, and clean the diamond settings gently with a soft lint-free cloth.
