Large George II Walnut Fretwork Mirror

Description

A large and impressive antique George II walnut fretwork or Chippendale mirror dating from circa 1750. A really attractive and large mid 18th Century mirror with extremely Well-figured cross-grained walnut fretwork frame, surmounted by a decorative pierced and gilt wood Prince of Wales feathers. The aged bevelled rectangular mirror plate within a moulded surround and carved parcel gilt inner slip. Beautifully mellowed it boasts a lovely warm patina and surface, the gilding also remains in relatively good condition and has a lovely old lustre to it, a nice large sized mirror, this is a real statement piece. There are a few minor old breaks and repairs to the frame, having been well repaired.
