Charming Pair of Early 20th Century Bronze & Marble Bookends
A fabulous pair of early 20th-century bronze and marble bookends, each depicting a delightful putto seated astride a marble plinth. The figures are beautifully modelled, with pleasing detail and a warm patinated finish that contrasts elegantly with the marble bases.
Each marble plinth features a subtle concave depression, making them not only ideal as bookends but also practical for holding small trinkets or desk accessories.
Unsigned, yet very well made, these pieces are likely French in manufacture and display excellent craftsmanship and proportion.
Standing approximately 17 cm tall, they are highly decorative and would make an attractive addition to a study, library, or mantel display.
Condition: Offered in very good condition, with only minor age-related wear consistent with period.
