Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Bloor Derby porcelain figures refer to ceramic statuettes produced during the Robert Bloor management period of the Derby porcelain factory, spanning approximately 1811 to 1848. These pieces often feature pastoral, mythological, or animal subjects framed by intricate floral bocage.

Early 19th-century figures were hand-moulded from soft-paste or bone china ceramic bodies before being fired. Glazes and enamel pigments or gilded details were subsequently applied by hand and fixed through additional low-temperature kiln firings.

Authentic Regency-era Derby porcelain typically displays red or blue factory marks printed, painted, or incised on the underside, such as the crown above a D or a circular Bloor Derby mark. Additionally, detailed hand-modelling, patch marks on the base, and characteristic gilding techniques indicate period authenticity.

Antique porcelain animal figures can be displayed symmetrically on a fireplace mantelpiece, integrated into a curated bookshelf arrangement, or placed on a sideboard alongside contemporary design elements to create visual balance.

Decorated antique porcelain should be dusted softly with a dry, lint-free microfibre cloth or a soft-bristled brush to avoid damaging delicate bocage work. Water and chemical detergents should be avoided, particularly on gilding or unglazed areas.
