Corvidae Antique has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The bail at the top is nine-carat gold, likely added later to convert the piece to a pendant from a larger piece of jewellery.

CONDITION: The pendant is in very good antique condition. When seen under strong magnification there is a tiny hairline fissure at the bottom of the cabochon which looks as if it has always been there (see photos), the stone is securely set and appears in good sturdy condition.
ERA: Victorian (c.1837-1901).
