Walnut Gueridon Centre Table C.1840

Description

Superb early 19th.c. French marble top gueridon or centre table c.1840. Original 38½? diameter top in well figured grey marble, the edge moulded with a border of concentric rings designed to stop spilt liquids from running over the sides. Highly figured walnut veneered apron with an applied moulding around the bottom edge. Very unusual corkscrew carved column over splendid Empire style tripod legs carved with scrolling acanthus leaves and large claw feet. With the original wooden wheeled castors below. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
