Splendid pair of large 17th.c. style carved oak armchairs c.1900. Tall backrests with a large carved and pierced decoration to the top rail. Turned arms with padded rests and scrolling acanthus terminals on twist carved supports. Over generously proportioned sprung seats. Upholstered in a woven tapestry fabric with dense floral design continued on the rear of the backrest. Turned and block legs joined with twist carved stretchers at he front, sides and centre.
