Rare 18th-Century Slim London Chinoiserie Lacquered 8-Day Longcase Clock C. 1780

Brief Description:

This is a magnificent, extremely rare, original 18th-century London-made slim Chinoiserie Lacquered Longcase Clock by James Brogden (1765-1794).

The exceptional example has a truly beautiful clock case, which is lacquered and embellished with finely painted chinoiserie scenes.

Indeed, we believe this is the only such clock that is available at the time of writing.

The piece has a reliable 8-day German movement replacement and chimes on the hour and half hour with a bim bam sound.

It is an entirely original piece which is in superb antique condition.

We believe the movement was replaced during the early 20th-century, probably due to the difficulties of purchasing original 18th-century clock parts of such a petite size.

I have enjoyed this piece for more than 2-years, and it keeps incredibly accurate time.

Owning this piece will be a true pleasure, and I guarantee you won't find anything quite as unique and as special as this amazing 18th-century clock.
