A 20 Drawer Victorian Mahogany Collectors Cabinet by J.t.crockett of Cavendish Square, London. Circa 1890.

Description

An excellent 20 drawer collecotrs cabinet by j.t.crockett of cavendish square. London. Circa 1890. Extra deep drawers easily capable of accommodating full continental length pins.

This cabinet is fashioned in figured mahogany and the drawer bases are in cedar giving extra protection against pest of any sort.

The cabinet was designed to house, display and protect a collection of british butterflies but could be used for many other collecting pursuits.

All drawers have closely fitting glazed frame tops and are base lined with a layer of cork and internally lined with acid free white cartridge paper. The drawer bases are, as mentioned, made of cedar which is recognised as an insect repellant timber.

Original lock and key, glazed door and brass label plates to all drawers.

Front to back. 21.5 inches.

Width. 18 inches.

Front to back. 18 inches.

Overall depth. 2.25 inches. (full continental pin depth).
