Description

Very Early English Carved Silver Gilt Mirror c 1670-80.

Remarkably the frame still retains a good percentage of its original silver gilding.

Frame holds a piece of thin mercury mirror plate (c1800 or earlier) which has heavy overall foxing.

Originally the frame would have held a portrait from the period, the mirror plate being fitted many, many years ago.
