Description

Antique Giltwood Overmantle mirror of impressive proportions, dating from 1860.

In wonderful "Country House" condition, retaining it's original water-gilding, which has a lovely mellow feel.

Original mercury silvered mirror plate with overall foxing and the most amazing overall sparkle to the silvering. One larger area of foxing to the extreme top of the plate.

Original backing back is intact.

Sizes 177.5cm tall. max width at base 129 cm. Main frame width 125 cm.
